Over EUR 120 billion socio-economic effects created by EMECA Members' exhibition activity

The 22 large and leading trade fair venues in Europe united in the Major European Exhibition Centres Association (EMECA) generate a significant socio-economic impact for the immediate surroundings of a venue, for the wider region and on national or transnational level. A new impact study conducted by KPMG on behalf of EMECA reveals the economic power of the exhibition industry in Europe and of EMECA Members’ venues in particular.

EMECA and UFI renew and strengthen the European Exhibition Industry Alliance at Global Exhibitions Day 2018

EMECA, the European Major Exhibition Centers Association, and UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, have agreed to extend the European Exhibition Industry Alliance (EEIA), which aims to represent the interests of the exhibition industry to EU stakeholders in Brussels. The joint agreement has been extended for another three years and given increased resources. Barbara Weizsäcker will continue as Secretary General.

Stable growth for all and best 2017 figures ever for some are the impressively good news reported at the EMECA General Assembly celebrated at Deutsche Messe in Hannover. Economies in European countries that have suffered most during the crisis are back with steady growth rates which is reflected in the results of the EMECA Members in these countries. “We are very proud of our Members’ performance which shows that quality of venues and of the events held at our premises, thorough investments and a veritable strategic outlook pay off.
